[-Team TSUBASA-] vol.1 chpt.1

A.N.D.
[androids never die]
-Team TSUBASA-
vol.1 chpt.1
[]Kri’s eyes widened as she stared at two water tanks that each held a human form. Kri knew the terror these things could bring because they weren’t humans- they were anoihumans.
<><><><><><><><><><>
[]The creation of anoihumans had been banned for over two hundred years ago in 2032 due to the anoihuman’s assistance to androids in the twenty year long A vs. H war. The A vs. H war was the death of over one million humans, thousands of cyborgs and the destruction of almost all major world leaders (two of which were anoihumans at the time). Anoihumans weren’t just dangerous, they were also extremely hard to make.
[]Not only did an anoihuman creator have to give a piece of their self, they also had to obtain blood and bones from a fresh corpse. They also had to take a journey to obtain a heart crystal (the main power source for an anoihuman) and go to an organ creator to have a full set of artificial organs made. Then the anoihuman creator had to make an android skeleton and nerves with wires. After gathering all the needed materials (including a huge water tank and two different types of computers), the anoihuman creator would piece together the anoihuman then place their creation in a tank, attach all the necessary cords and wires, then sit back as the artificial amniotic fluid does what a mother’s womb would as the anoihuman grows skin, hair and eyes.
[]To this day, humans have been inferior to anoihumans. If it wasn’t for the laws banning the creation of these human like creatures, a second A vs. H war would most likely occur.
That was something humans wanted to prevent. To do this, a world wide organization called Tsubasa was created. Tsubasa took some of the worlds smartest and strongest teenagers only to put them through years of rigorous training. This training taught the teens how to combat an anoihuman if one was to ever be created. They were also trained in how to deactivate an android or even a Giz (a small one foot robot) who contained an AI unit. On top of that, the teens also learned how to prevent cyborgs from turning more robotic than human.
[]Some of the teens were trained in the art of using guns and swords. Others were trained with boxing while others were trained in the martial arts. Those with little physical endurance were trained as hackers and were given vast medical knowledge.
[]Then there were the select few who had the ability to train in all fields. These teens were put in charge of a team that consisted of up to five members that each specialized in a field.
<><><><><><><><><><>
[]Kri was one of these select few teens. It took three years of her teen years to finish her training. She was put in charge of Com (a cyborg that specialized in hand to hand combat), Masaya (a teenage boy that was trained to use guns), and Mayu (the teams medical specialist). Kri’s team had recently been formed and destroying the two anoihumans that floated in front of her was the teams first mission.
[]“My readings say that they are currently comatose,” Com informed, her red eye band flickering, “It should be easy to destroy them.”
[]Masaya headed for the tank labeled ‘Kai.’ In the tank floated a girl anoihuman with green hair, a green eye band and looked no more than twelve human years of age. Masaya noticed the chord attached to Kai’s stomach had a clear liquid flowing through it. This meant the anoihuman was being feed just like a baby was while in a mothers womb.
[]Com took a few steps then stood in front of the second tank. This tank held what looked like a brown haired human boy, had an eye band and seemed no more than fifteen years old. He too was being feed.
[]Com’s eye band flickered, “To open the girl’s tank, you’ll have to go to the computer over there and figure out the password Kri. As far as this guy is concerned, I’ll take him down.”
Mayu and Masaya looked at each other then went to the side of the room and pulled out weapons just in case. Each member of Tsubasa got trained in the basics of sword fighting just in case they had to fight.
[]Kri headed for a desk that held five computer screens. Two of the screens had vital signs such as Kai’s heart and brain activity. Another screen controlled the amniotic fluid level while another made sure Kai was comatose. The final screen was full of symbols Kri hadn’t seen since her second year of training at Tsubasa. Com also stood in from of the other anoihuman, Mark’s, identical five screens. The only difference was these screens showed Mark was a guy.
Com easily hacked into the system. She then made the amniotic fluid from Mark’s tank drain and the wires and chords to detach from his body. A loud ‘thud’ was heard when Mark feel like a rag doll to the tanks floor.
[]Kri didn’t have the same luck as Com even though she was following the same steps. After a couple minuet of trying, Kri realized what was wrong; Kai was no longer comatose. She turned to Kai’s tank only to be greeted with a sinister smile. Kai yanked the chord from her neck and the one from her stomach out. Her stomach formed a belly button and her black shirt grew to cover her stomach. Before Com could run over to assist Kri, a loud ’bang’ followed by shattering glass and the sound of dripping water echoed in the room. Small snagging noises followed as the wires on Kai’s skin detached.
[]“Great” Masaya yawned before firing some gun shots at the awakened Kai.
One of the shots hit Kai’s shoulder, a second hit her chest and a third missed. Blood began to seep from Kai’s shoulder and chest, but she still moved on while another loud bang was heard. Kai smiled as Kri’s team turned towards Mark’s tank. He stood there like a child that just woke from a nap. Mark stretched his arms then put them in a boxing arrangement. His bare feet started to hop from side to side as if ready to pounce on some prey.
[]Pounce he did. Mark ran towards Masaya with a punch in the ready. Masaya failed to duck from two punches and several kicks from Mark. Masaya gasped for air as he readied his gun for a direct shot. His hands trembled at the thought of missing and the fact he had been told this was suppose to be a level one mission. Level one missions were suppose to be the easiest type of missions; but it turned out easy does not mean void of danger.
[]Masaya’s gun fired. The bullet was trailed by grayish smoke and small signs that some sort of electrical current was used in his guns operating system.
[]Mark didn’t make any effort to dodge. The bullet hit him square in the head. Blood trickled down and small pieces of his skin folded over like fabric. Masaya could see some of the wires in Mark’s head. These wires connected Mark’s brain to the rest of his body.
[]When the bullet passed through the back of Mark’s head, it’s trail was followed by pieces of shattered metal, skin, and brain fluid. Mark’s arms went limp. As Mark tried to kick Masaya, his legs bowed under him then he feel to the ground. The glow in Mark’s eye band flickered on and off then went completely out. Masaya ripped Mark’s shirt off. Underneath, on Mark’s chest, was his still glowing heart crystal. Masaya reached down to pull the heart crystal out of Mark’s chest. Once removed, the heart crystal stopped glowing. Mark had officially been deactivated.
[]Kri’s team couldn’t say the same about Kai who was staring at the fallen Mark. Even though she didn’t have eyes, the team could see anger build up in Kri’s face.
Kai readied herself in a boxing postion very similar to the fallen Mark. Her eye band changed to red and her lips pursed. She was ready to kill. The team knew she wouldn’t be as easy to take care of.
[]Something unexpected interrupted Kai before her anger could burst into a fight…
A cold breath hit the back of Kri’s neck. She turned only to have her eyes meet with those of an anoihuman scientist; an Aken.
[]Kri backed up as a reflex. To her surprize, a teenage guy who could be no more than eighteen stood before her. He had deep blue eyes, jet black hair, a white lab coat and a name tag that read []‘Keiichiro.’ It didn’t have a last name.
[]“I see you have had the chance to meet my darlings,” Keeichiro’s smile was warm yet erie, “Oh, and you’ve given Mark an injury.”
[]“Injury?” Mayu asked as she started to walk from her post at the door, “The bruises Masaya will have tomorrow are injuries. What Mark has sustained is known as ’a fatal blow’.”
[]Keiichiro laughed. He knew under normal circumstances what Mark had sustained would be a ‘fatal blow,’ but Mark was an anoihuman. The only way Mark would truly be dead is when the world had no more heart crystals. There still remained a plentiful amount. Keiichiro’s lab alone had almost half of the world’s heart crystals. That alone could sustain a population of anoihumans three-fourths the size of Earth’s human population.
[]“Anoihumans can’t get ‘fatal blows,’” Kai smiled as she slipped over to Keiichiro, “Right, daddy?”
[]Keiichiro gave Kai a hug, “Yes. That’s right. There’s no such thing as a fatal blow for anoihumans.”
[]Kri, Mark and Mayu began to panick. Their training at Tsubasa never taught them such a thing. They were told you have to take an anoihuman’s heart crystal and give a blow to the head to prevent them from being revived.
[]Com had already learned about there not being a fatal blow for anoihumans… but she had sworn to secrecy. Not many people, even anoihuman creators, knew of this fact. Even the U.S. government, a major world leader, was unaware of this fact. Only the top dogs of Tsubasa knew the truth. It was one of the only ways to destroy anoihumans while heart crystals existed in the world.
[]“Do you plan on reviving him?” Com asked bluntly.
[]“At the moment, no,” Keiichiro sighed, “I’d have to get a new brain made and let his skin reform. For now, Kai is the only one I need.”
[]Need? Kri didn’t quite understand what Keiichiro meant by “Kai is the only one I need.” It was an odd statement from a human to make. Unless…
[]“Is Kai one of those anoihumans that can bear children?”
[]Keiichiro smiled, “Yes she is; but I planned on her bearing Mark’s child. As you can see, that will no longer work.”
